1 Nov 2012: The server responded: MBN00000007 BAD Could not parse command

Thursday 1 November 2012: in the last 48 hours it has become apparent that the behaviour of some of Google’s Gmail servers has changed without any warning. As a consequence of this, users are now experiencing errors saying “The server has responded with negative reply. The server responded: MBN00000007 BAD Could not parse command.”

We have produced a fix for this problem in today’s software release. If you’re not prompted to upgrade automatically, please download the new installer from:

For enterprise users, you do not need to produce a new installation package. Simply take your existing “Settings.afx” file and pair it with the new MSI installer from the link above to perform your upgrade.
